Brand guide
One arrow, two colours, no excuses
Everything on this page is downloadable and free to use for anything to do with the club — race posters, crew shirts, a photo caption. The only ask is that you follow the six rules further down, because a logo that gets stretched stops being a logo.
The mark
An S, a U, and a runner leaving
The monogram doubles as a route: the line enters bottom left, loops through the U, and exits as an arrow heading up and away. The gradient runs indigo to red along that path — cold at the start, hot at the finish.

Primary lockup
Stacked, wordmark left-aligned under the mark. This is the default — use it in headers, on kit and anywhere the club needs naming.
Tagline lockup
The full sentence, set in its original italic. Use it big and alone — hero sections, the back of a shirt, a race banner. Never shrink it below 80px wide.
Clear space and minimum size
Keep clear space on all four sides equal to the height of the arrowhead — roughly a third of the mark’s height. Minimum sizes: 24px tall on screen, 10mm in print. Below that, the loop inside the S closes up and it reads as a blob.

The gradient
115°, red at 0%, plum at 46%, indigo at 100%. It always runs the same direction as the arrow — up and to the right. Use it for primary buttons, the 1px rule at the top of cards, and large display type via background-clip. Never behind body text.
linear-gradient(115deg, #E8242C 0%, #A03157 46%, #43458F 100%)Contrast rules
- Race Red is for accents and never for body text on ink — it fails at small sizes.
- Chalk on Ink is 16.8:1. That is the workhorse pairing.
- Chalk Dim is fine for secondary text at 14px and up, not below.
- Hi-Viz means “live, low or urgent”. If everything is Hi-Viz, nothing is.
Typography
Condensed and leaning, or plain and readable
Two faces, no exceptions. The display face echoes the wordmark's slant; the text face gets out of the way.

Abcdefghijklm 0123456789
- Uppercase, italic, tracking −0.01em, line-height 0.88.
- Headings, numbers, event titles, buttons over 18px.
- Never set body copy in it. Never use it below 18px.
Text
InterA running club with no joining fee, no qualifying time and no way to be too slow for it.
Abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz 0123456789 — used for everything you actually read: paragraphs, forms, labels, tables. Tabular figures switched on for times, prices and distances so numbers line up in columns.
- Body 15–17px, line-height 1.65.
- Labels 11–12px, uppercase, tracking 0.12em, semibold.
- Tabular numerals on anything time- or money-shaped.
Voice
Write like the person who talked to you in the car park
The club's whole proposition is that it is not intimidating. The writing has to earn that.
Do
Don’t
Rules
Six ways to wreck it
- 1
Don't recolour the gradient or flip its direction — red always rises to the top right.
- 2
Don't stretch, shear or add a second italic. The mark already leans.
- 3
Don't outline the mark, add a drop shadow, or put it in a circle badge.
- 4
Don't place the gradient mark on a mid-tone background — use the one-colour version instead.
- 5
Don't rewrite the tagline. It is “all you have to do is to show up”, lowercase, full stop.
- 6
Don't crowd it. Clear space on every side is the height of the arrowhead.
